TRIVIAL CIRCUIT

If we really want to win the battle against climate change, the construction industry in particular must change. It is after all responsible for a huge amount of global emissions. In this context, many are currently talking about circular construction. But what exactly does that mean? And how does it differ from conventional building methods?

TRIVIAL CIRCUIT is an entertaining educational board game for 2 to 6 people. In the 6 phases of the game, the players encounter the specific challenges of circular construction and as a team have the opportunity to come up with their own creative solutions. Based on an actual realised project by LXSY Architects, the particularities and characteristics of the building method can experienced and understood in all construction phases - from agreements regarding sustainability prioritisation to documenting the finished project. Each phase uses slightly different elements to clarify the tasks and make for a varied and enjoyable user experience. TRIVIAL CIRCUIT is equally aimed at experts and laypersons. Even people without any experience in the field of construction and architecture are taken on a journey through the project and can test their creativity and practical thinking.

TRIVIAL CIRCUIT was available to play in the German Pavilion at the 18th Biennale Architettura 2023.

TRIVIAL CIRCUIT was funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing.
